What we do have at our this year is this little pumpkin that Reagan got on a field trip to a local pumpkin patch:

I happen to like his twisty stem. But Reagan wrote a whole story about this pumpkin for school.

I know you can read her perfect handwriting if you want to, but I’ll type it out here in case you don’t feel like blowing up the picture.

My favorite part of our field trip was going to pick out our pumpkins. It was hard because I wanted to get a perfect pumpkin. Before he told us to go pick it out I was looking at one and while I was standing there I decided it was perfect, but sadly when he let us go, someone else got it. So I got a not so perfect one that was covered with warts but I still put it on my porch.

We have to keep bringing it inside because Brinky is trying to destroy it, but isn’t it cute? This story came home with some schoolwork yesterday, and I just love it.

Jenny texts me fairly often since she got her phone this summer. Reagan also texts using her iPod Touch when she feels like it. This weekend I received these texts from my girls while they were upstairs and I was downstairs.

I’m talking about the text where she was telling on Reagan, though the one about me being the best mom is nice, isn’t it? (I’ll tell you a little secret. I sent it to myself from her phone when mine wasn’t working and I was checking to see if it had started working again. Why shouldn’t I send myself a nice text from Jenny?) Anyway, I got the text about how Reagan threw a book at her face. And then I got this one from Reagan:

Again, I’m talking about the one at the bottom, not the other wonderful glimpses into life with my girls. So I guess Jenny told her she was going to text me to tell on Reagan.

If you wonder what my response was to this tattle texting, well, this is pretty much it. I ignored them, and they never dragged their butts downstairs to actually complain. We all saved a lot of time this way.

And in case you missed Brinky during my blogging absence, here he is sneaking up on his dad last night, wondering if he can get some of that ice cream. (He could.)

He did keep his sippy cup with him while he swept because it’s thirsty work. And it was a new sippy cup he didn’t want to have removed from his hand.

He was allowed to eat some lunch after all his hard work, and he made some of the funniest faces ever.

At the end of the day, he had to have a big bottle and watch some Dora to relax.

It was tough to get ready for this only child week, but I can say he’s enjoying it now that it’s here.

I know my hands are pretty small, but I didn’t expect my 10-year-old to have hands the same size as mine yet. She’s growing up.

Brinky and Lee are getting serious about things today. Also, Brinky will now eat anything that gets close to his mouth. Maybe soon he’ll try to crawl or walk to more things he wants to eat. I think that’s the only thing that will get him moving. Maybe one day he’ll even think about rolling from back to front.
