Thanks, Kristen, for the tag reminding me to play along with Old School Blogging again this month. I love these fun posts – especially reading everyone else’s responses!
A. Attached or Single? Attached. Married for, um, hang on while I do math…14 years next month, together since high school, so practically forever. (I think this picture is the real us even though it’s from a long time ago.)
B. Best Friend? My husband. He’s the lucky one who gets to listen to every detail of my day, even when he probably doesn’t care at all.
C. Cake or pie? Cake, specifically red velvet. Or chocolate. Though I do love a good apple or cherry pie. Just not as much as cake.
D. Day of choice? Saturday. I can sleep in a teensy bit. There’s no work the next day. I usually save a lot of my errands for Sunday, so Saturday is the closest I get to a free day each week.
E. Essential Item? My phone. Even though I don’t love my phone that seems like it messes up all the time, I still think I couldn’t live without it. Or a better one.
F. Favorite color? Orange. I’ve always loved the color orange.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Worms. Because if I say I’m going to eat only one it’s way more food than a bear.
H. Home town? A very small town in southwest Virginia. I was born in Richmond, but all my school years were in this town, so I still consider it my hometown.
I. Favorite Indulgence? Chocolate. And Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry. They’re both great afternoon pick-me-ups if I’m having a long day at work.
J. January or July? July, because I generally prefer the warm to the cold. My wedding was in July, and my first child was born in July. But, if you’re asking which month is better for having a kid, January. Summer babies are the worst.
K. Kids? Two girls and a sweet baby boy (he’s two; I’m just planning to call him sweet baby boy for life).
L. Life isn’t complete without? My family.
M. Marriage date? July 31, 1999
N. Number of brothers/sisters? One older brother and one younger brother. I’m the middle child (and the best one). I also have a bunch of awesome brothers- and sisters-in-law who have been a part of my life for so long that I couldn’t imagine it without them.
O. Oranges or Apples? Apples. Dipped in peanut butter or caramel. (Yes, I’m copying Kristen’s answer, but it’s because she’s so right.)
P. Phobias? Ferrets (they want to bite my feet; I’m sure of it). Fear that the cops will pull me over every time I’m driving, even though I’m slow and cautious.
Q. Quotes? I’m not much of a quote person. I’ll say something from Tina Fey’s Bossypants, but I’m too lazy to go pick a specific quote.
R. Reasons to smile? My girls getting old enough to really have fun with me, enjoying some of the same things (awesome teen dramas, cool music); my sweet boy giving me the best hugs; laughing hysterically with my husband while we read funny stuff on the internet; my kids having fun together; so many things. Looking at old fun pictures like this one:
S. Season of choice? I think fall, but sometimes I feel like I just always look forward to the next season instead of enjoying the current one.
U. Unknown fact about me? I skipped a grade – I only went to 1st grade for 6 weeks before moving on to 2nd grade. Which also means I was younger than everyone else in my grade.
V. Vegetable? Do potatoes count? They’re my favorite. If you don’t count potatoes, I’d say carrots, but only if they’re dipped in delicious ranch dressing.
W. Worst habit? Procrastination. It’s terrible. I can’t do anything before the last possible moment I’ve decided it can be done.
X. Xray or Ultrasound? Ultrasounds seem much more fun to me since the ones I’ve seen have generally been baby related. I don’t think I’ve ever had an x-ray, other than for dental purposes, actually.
Y. Your favorite food? Thanksgiving turkey. With all the other fixings.
Z. Zodiac sign? Aquarius.
