I found this one the floor outside the girls’ bedroom this morning:
I’m not sure why that girl isn’t wearing her glasses, or what the tornado beside her was, but I’m glad Reagan knows that smart is cool. She’s kind of ready for back to school.
(Also, we don’t understand why Reagan always draws eyes looking suspiciously to the side like this, but she does.)

That’s so cute. Reagan’s right. I asked her to draw a portrait of me and Zero while she was here. I’m looking to the side, but Zero is actually looking straight ahead! I’ll scan it today.
That’s hard to believe – I’ve never seen her draw anyone looking straight ahead, I think.
LOVE it! I love asking my kids to explain their artwork to me – it always ends up being something totally bizarre, delivered in a voice that makes it clear it should’ve been obvious.
Oh, I know that voice well!
My girls feel the same way and it makes me so happy. They look up to the girls that are getting scholarships in their senior year for not just sports but their grades too. I keep reminding them that they could be the best at every sport but if they don’t have the brains to go with it…the colleges will find someone that does.
