I brought Reagan and Brinkley by my office to show them off when I was off on Monday. (Brinkley only showed off the fact that he could eat an entire mini muffin, paper and all, but that’s a different story.)
Reagan was very excited about going in my office and sitting at my desk.
I took a picture because I thought she was so cute, and then when I looked at it I was distracted by the horrible mess that is my desk, and my office in general. I would like you to know that I have cleaned my desk – sort of (I made neat piles) – since that day. Sometimes I hope that my general messiness won’t be a trait that I pass on to my kids, but the state of their room leads me to believe it might be. But I swear it’s not actually genetic because my mom’s house has always been incredibly neat and clean.
Linking up with Greta and Julie:

I’m pretty sure my messiness has been inherited! But what about your dad…?
My dad informed me after seeing this post that it came from him
Our house wasn’t always neat…particularly when the 3 of you were young. With just me and Dad, it’s relatively easy to keep it neat. However, my desk is always a wreck, so I’m guessing you inherited that from me!
It’s just so hard to keep a desk neat – and actually get a lot of work done!
I rage, rage against the mess but sometimes it closes in on me. It’s a 24-hour job to keep it at bay.
And I just don’t have 24 hours a day to do that!
If it’s genetic, Luke is screwed too. My house is a mess. My husband says that he is the neat one but I hardly think so…HARDLY.
Unfortunately my husband and I are both messy, so I think the kids are doomed!
I’m a piler myself. You should have put her to work while she was there!
I should have! Piles are efficient, right??
Too cute. My desk at home is so bad that I don’t even try to work there anymore. I plan to get it straightened when the kids go back to school in a couple weeks. That’s the plan anyway. I give you lots of credit for posting the photo with the mess. I have cropped countless photos to hide messes in the background. ha.
I normally try to crop out the mess, too, but I decided to let it stay in this picture
I used to have a place for everything and everything in its place but since having the girls, I don’t have time for that. Bean is definitely like me in the neatness factor and Ash is definitely like Chris in the messy factor.
LOL, I often don’t notice messes until I start taking pictures, either! And then I just clean around the part that’s going to be in the shot.
I’m neat on the outside only
I wish I were neat. Anywhere.
