This week’s Monday Listicles topic is to list 10 reasons why being a child is great. I decided to go straight to the source (Reagan, my 8-year-old) for this one. We’re splitting the list up a little bit though.
5 Reasons It’s Great to Be a Big Kid (in Reagan’s words)
1. I get to fit in boxes.
2. I can go to school.
3. I don’t have to pay for things unless I’m at the dollar store and want to buy candy for myself.
4. I get to live with my parents.
5. I have more toys than grownups because grownups can’t really play with toys all day.
5 Reason’s It’s Great to Be a Baby (reasons Reagan’s jealous of her baby brother)
1. He gets to hug people.
2. He gets to learn more new things than me like walking and crawling and talking.
3. He gets to take naps.
4. His pacifier always makes him feel better.
5. He gets to have mommy and daddy do everything for him.

I wrote these in the order she said them – so her immediate first response to what’s great about being a kid was that they fit in boxes
This is so sweet! I want to fit in boxes. I’m not sure why I do…it just sounds like something that might be fun. She has a great imagination!
My girls spent about a month using the box from our new microwave as their family room hangout!
Yup, I have to agree with Ellen, fitting in a box is a great one! When my kids were little enough to fit into boxes that’s seriously all they played in. Great list!
I’m not sure what the appeal is, but they do love to sit in a box!

Awww, that part about Brinky’s pacifier always making him feel better. It is so true! What do they have to call them when they grow out of those. It makes me wonder what goes through their heads now that she said that. Heck, I’m thinking maybe I need to get one for myself. It may help during the witching hour
I wish I still had a pacifier for Reagan – it might help when she has one of her daily freakouts!
